Jun 9, 2020 | Blog, News

The Dublin Community Foundation is pleased to invite you to participate with us in THE BIG GIVE event hosted by the Columbus Foundation.  As you may know, THE BIG GIVE is a signature online fundraising event held annually to help Central Ohio nonprofits serve the less fortunate, vulnerable and at-risk population as well as provide cultural and arts engagement in our community.

THE BIG GIVE event will run for 25 hours from 10 a.m., June 10th, Wednesday, through 11 a.m., June 11th, Thursday.  During these 25 hours of giving, your gift will be boosted by a $1.5 million+ Bonus Pool provided by The Columbus Foundation and corporate and community partners, the largest in Big Give history.  Furthermore, all credit card fees will be covered by the Columbus Foundation, so 100 percent of your donations go to the nonprofit(s) of your choice.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented challenges for so many in our community.  The Dublin Community Foundation created the “Dublin has Heart” emergency response fund to assist local nonprofits to provide services to those severely impacted.  Thanks to generous donations from IGS, DENSO America International, PDS Planning, Hagerty Insurance and contributions from the Dublin Community Foundation’s own Board of Trustees, we have raised approximately $75,000 in just 8 weeks.

Local Dublin nonprofits such as the Dublin Food Pantry, Dublin Neighborhood Bridges, Welcome Warehouse, Syntero and others have benefitted from rapid-response grants issued by the Dublin Community Foundation in the last couple of months amounting to $43,000.  These non-profits have been working tirelessly to serve a huge surge in volume of people needing services due to significant economic ramifications from the pandemic.  There are many heartbreaking stories of hardworking men and women in the Dublin area who have been struggling due to job elimination or salary reduction.  And for the first time in their life, they are making a trip to the Dublin Food Pantry or Welcome Warehouse to seek basic needs.  We are fortunate to have Syntero providing mental health and addiction counseling services which have seen a sharp increase in demand.

Please click THE BIG EVENT and search for The Dublin Community Foundation in the THE GIVING STORE or select any nonprofit of your choice.  Join us for this extraordinary opportunity to unite and empower our community.  We are a community that cares especially during times of need.  Dublin has always risen to the occasion because DUBLIN HAS HEART!
