February 2006: Donation $6,500 for Dublin Community Church Steeple Restoration:
Dublin Foundation to Assist Dublin Community Church in Reviving Bell Tower
The Dublin Community Church is a historical community landmark that dates back to 1877. With time, the building has endured the environment, weather and age. Recently, members of the Buildings and Grounds committee of the Church noted deterioration to the steeple and bell tower. This steeple has served as a place for celebration, mourning and welcome in the Dublin community for more than a hundred years, and the people of the church wanted to revive this important piece of the historic building for the public to enjoy again.
With the help of the community and the Dublin Foundation, they were able to not only restore the steeple to its original condition, but also restore the community’s faith in the Church. The restoration of the celebrated bell tower at the Dublin Community Church was an enormous accomplishment for all of those who participated.

March 2003: Donation awarded $3,500 for Dublin Historical Society Website:
Dublin Foundation Supports Website for Dublin Historical Society
Thanks to the support of the Dublin Foundation, the Dublin Historical Society was able to successfully develop a system for scanning and digitizing photos to preserve the city’s history. The use of computers and storage space enabled the society to create digital images of photos and stories for the community to enjoy for years to come. The second phase of the project involved adding a website with these images and stories for residents to enjoy. Purchases of the scanned photos can also be made on this website.
The Dublin Foundation supported the new website design and the service it provides for the people of Dublin. Old photos can get tattered and torn, but this website, with the use of digital scanning, made it possible to protect the history of Dublin. Now not only can residents order historical photos, but they can enjoy the rich and lively story they tell

The grant from the Dublin Foundation enabled the Dublin Historical Society to purchase a scanner and to develop a website. The website contains stories and descriptions of Dublin’s people and its growth from a settlement to a village and gives site visitors a taste of life in the 1800s and early 1900s. With the website, the Society can more effectively fulfill its mission of preserving history and educating the community on its past.
