Donation for $3,000 Provides Supplies for KidSMILES Program: Promoting the Importance of Good Dental Hygiene

May 11, 2015 | Archive, Blog, Dublin Community Other, Education and Youth development, Health and Human Services, News

KidSMILES began in 2010 as an energetic and informative educational outreach program teaching elementary school children the importance of good dental hygiene. Since inception, the program has expanded through partnership with the United Way of Central Ohio and Smart Start to provide the same, exciting forms of education, to local preschools.

Through school-age educational programs as well as expansion into the community, the organization has served approximately 11,000 children as of December 2013. Every child who receives a KidSMILES educational presentation also receives a take-away bag of dental supplies. Through its donation, The Dublin Community Foundation will fund “goody bags” for approximately 1,200 children who will participate in the presentation through Dublin’s local Welcome Warehouse program.
