Connecting people who care … with causes that matter
The community of Dublin, Ohio, is one born of the convergence of innovation and tradition; international headquarters and family homesteads; art and technology; small-town friendliness and big-city amenities. A place in which contradictory attributes seamlessly create a community that has received national and international recognition as one of the top locations to live, work and play. And while these attributes converge seamlessly, they do not occur effortlessly. In fact, it is on the backs of the residents that have come before us, the nonprofit organizations among us, and the planning done for the future that allows our community to thrive.
From the very beginning, the Dublin Foundation has honored the past, engaged in the present, and secured the future. Originally created as the Dublin Fund of the Columbus Foundation by an endowment made by a small group of village residents, the Foundation received its’ 501c3 designation by the IRS in 2004, and formally became the Dublin Foundation. Armed with its’ own identity, the Dublin Foundation set forth to serve as a catalyst for resources to enrich the lives of the residents of Dublin and facilitate the community’s efforts to leave a legacy.
At its’ core, the mission of the Dublin Foundation is to support the community and its nonprofit organizations by raising, investing, and dispersing funds for the betterment of the community. In addition to awarding grants to nonprofit organizations, the Foundation also seeks to provide capacity-building resources to those nonprofits; and to serve as the collaborative intersection of the public, private and philanthropic sectors to affect change in our community.
While the Dublin Foundation continues to remain true to the vision set forth at its creation, it also is paving the way for community members and organizations to make their own mark on the community. As a community foundation, we are created by and for the people of Dublin, Ohio, and are here to help donors make a positive impact on the community. As such, we offer three features unique to community foundations:
* Personalized service – We make giving easy and effective, accepting a wide variety of gifts and providing donors a number of charitable options. Individuals and corporations may contribute cash, stocks, property and bequests, or establish a fund in his or her name or in the name of a loved one;
* Local expertise – We have an in-depth understanding of the issues, opportunities, and resources that shape our community. We monitor all areas of community need, including human services, education, the environment, healthcare, the arts, and economic development. We can help donors learn more about the local organizations and programs that make a difference in areas most important to them.
* Community leadership – We invest in the long term and bring people and organizations together, convening diverse voices to address local issues and opportunities.
